Windmills ... Who Needs Game?
To learn windmills you will need to have a chair freeze.
- Start this move in a chair freeze
- Now Spread and straighten your legs
- Roll on your back while keeping your legs spread
- From here you want turn your body to the left, while sweeping your left foot towards the ground. This is where most people hit there foot on the ground because they keep there toes facing forward, Instead turn your feet so that they are parallel to the ground.
- At the same time your right leg should be drawing a circle with your left.Use your left hand to help your body roll.
- Now stick your right elbow in your stomach and catch your body wait in a UFO / Chair like freeze.
Now this is the way you start to learn this move if you do not do any other power moves. Once you can stall, roll, stall you are ready to learn it with Power.
With Power
To do this move you will need to master the B-boy power kick. This move is the secret to catching your momentum and steering in the direction you desire. It is also the start of almost every power move.
Once you have the sacred power kick down you are ready to start throwing your weight into a back spin. Now at normal speed you are going to …
- Power kick
- Bend your right arm and lower your body to the ground as you are spinning your legs in a circular motion with your feet parallel to the ground
- Roll onto your back as you pop your back like a back spring. Make sure you keep your legs moving in a circular motion
- Now instead of catching your weight with your right arm, use your right arm to help you spin more, kind of like a playground Carousel
- Repeat
Advanced Windmills
Please only try to learn these on great padding and make sure you stretch for at least 15 minutes. To do most advance mills you have to learn to use your head to get the pop off the ground.
The secret to this is, when you are on your back with your momentum spinning you need to really kick your legs and pop your back. At the same time turn your head into the ground. You should hop off the ground.
There are a lot of different types of windmills I will go into a couple
- Nut Crackers - One or both arms on your stuff
- Confusions - Arms on your head with elbows facing out
- Egg beater - Arms on your hips
- Sumos - Hands on Your Knees
- Barrel Rolls - Arms hugging an imaginary barrel
- Super mans/Air planes - Your arms are over your head like when superman fly's
- Munch mills - Legs Tucked but not crossed
- Tombstones - Legs together and piked
- Genies - Arms crossed over your chest
- Wurly Bird Tea Cups - Half egg beater, half confusion and you alternate hands each mill.
Once you have all or most of these down get ready to take it to the next level with Baby Windmills.
