The three step is an easy move to learn. You can mix it with your six step to get a some really clean looking ground work. It is easier than the six step but in my opinion it should be learned after you master the six.
You will want to start in a push up position with your knees bent slightly.
Take your right leg and step it threw towards your left leg while bending your left knee. You should be facing left with your right leg extended and your body weight on your left foot.
Now kick you left leg out and bring your right leg in.
Step three is a two part step. Once you have your left leg extended you are going to want to sweep it in front of your right leg, as your leg gets closer to the cross you need to lean forward and place your body weight on your arms and jump as your left leg sweeps threw. Pull your sweep all the way threw until you land in a push up position just as you started.
This step is a great move to break up your footwork. You can go into it from almost any move. Once you get the technique make sure you practice kicking both directions. When you feel confident that you have this move try to add a nice bounce to step three.
