The classic b-boy power kick is the first step to power moves. This move is just a pre-move and is always followed by another move to capitalize on your inertia.
This is the same move you will need to master to go into windmills, swipes, and Pinoy flares (from the back). This is because when you use your waist like a coil you are able to generate a huge amount of momentum.
Like most breakdance power moves you will need to do these series of maneuvers in about one second.
Kick your right leg back and spread as you go onto your left heal
At the same time turn your hips and arms to the left
Now swing your arms back to the right in a circular motion
This next four steps are done all with in a second
Left hand down
Kick your Right leg up and with the momentum you created with your arms
Right hand down
Kick your Left leg up and follow your momentum
You are now in a planche (This is a push up position with your legs spread and lifted off the ground )
Your hips should be above or even with your waist...
It helps when your learning at first to kick into a backspin. This will let you feel the momentum you are creating. Once you have that down try kicking into a windmill.…
