To do hand hops you will need to be able to control your center of gravity. There are a couple exercises to make hoping on your hand a lot easier.
Handstands are the first. Once you have a handstand down and you can walk on your hands you are ready to move to the next stage.
Switching your legs in different positions
knees bent
One leg in front
Heels touching
Legs spread
Crossed
All of these exercises will help make sure you do not end up accidentally doing this other move called face plants. So remember as with all b - boying technique is critical and stretch your wrists.
Double Hand
Scissor kick your legs while you go into a handstand
Keep scissor kicking your legs while pushing off the ground with both arms
Time it to the music
repeat
The other variation to these are single hand. To practice this do a handstand and lift one of your arms. You probably will notice one arm hand stands require a lot more balance, strength, and technique.
Single Hand
Get into a handstand with your knees bent
Lift your left arm and use it like a counter balance
Kick your legs into the air while you lift your right arm
Repeat
Both require you to keep your back strait. The one arm version works because you are shifting your center of gravity back to keep your balance.
