Drops and Transitions


Drops are the transitional move that connects your top rock to your foot work. There are a lot of different types and styles. As always with flavor being original beats all.

Every good b-boy has a couple of these in thier arsenal. Some are going to be a lot harder than others. Here is a couple moves to get you started.





Basic

  • Step back and away with your left leg

  • Place your left hand on the ground

  • Step Threw your left hand and right leg with your left leg


  • Back Sweep

  • Step back and away with your left leg

  • Place your left hand on the ground

  • Bend your right knee

  • Sweep your left leg behind your right foot


  • Front Sweep

  • Kick your left foot upward and to your side while you hop left

  • As you land your left foot bend your knee and lower your body to the ground

  • At the same time straighten your right leg

  • You should be crouched with your right leg extended

  • Sweep your right leg in front of your left foot


  • Corkscrew

  • Hop and cross your right foot in front of your left foot

  • They should be about shoulder length apart

  • Try to switch each foot

  • Turn your body to the right

  • At the same time bend your knees and lower your body to the ground

  • Try to keep your legs tight


  • Lavern Style

  • Cross your left foot in front of your right foot

  • Bring your right foot into the back of your left knee

  • Bend your left knee and fall forward

  • Catch your weight on your hands


  • Swipe

  • Jump forward and land with your weight on your left leg

  • During your jump lean backwards and catch your body weight on your right hand

  • Throw your upper body to the right

  • Kick your right leg up and in front of your left leg

  • Jump with your left leg

  • Place both hands on the ground and un twist your legs

  • Bend your knees and continue to turn as you drop

  • You should be in an open six step position
