I have always said "In my opinion Cleveland has more talent than Hollywood". Most people do not know the wealth of Hip Hop resources available to them in Cleveland. I will show you the where and when so you can make it happen.
Currently, I feel there is a lot of politics involved. It is 10% skill and 90% who you know. The time is here when we need to support our local hip hop scene and build it into what we deserve. We can not go wrong if we all bring our own unique aspect to the picture. I hope to provide you with all the information you need to make your break through.
I remember my first performance…
I was performing with one of my good friends and long time MC A.U.G.. The show was at the gardens on Cleveland's east side off E.55. I think Pauly Rhymes threw it and I bet if I really look I might be able to find some footage.
It was a huge venue and a nice turn out but to this day I have never seen another show there. This is partly my fault because I should have thrown a jam there by now.

Nothing accurately describes the feeling of butterflies in your stomach when you hear the host whisper "your next". The performance went great even though I don’t remember taking one step. I must have looked like the hip hop tree up on stage not able to move my roots but this is common because in the beginning everybody starts out with a poor stage presence.
I remember one of the main problems I was having at the time was holding the mic the perfect distance from my mouth so I didn't have to yell and lose my breath. On complicated verses you do not have the luxury of a retake. Eventually I started separating songs I plan to perform live and writing them according to different criteria. It took about five shows for me to finally get my mic presence right.
I can even remember forgetting my verse... a couple times...
I will never forget this one time way back in 2002, we where all set to perform at the Rhythm Room for long time Cleveland promoter Quincy Taylor when all of the sudden Wish Bone walked in the door and looked over the stage. We had sold a lot of tickets and had a pretty good size crowd of friends so we where hype.

I remember picturing in my head riding off to California in a private jet to do a cut with Bone, all the while hundred dollar bills appearing in my pocket. I think by the time we actually got to go on stage and perform I had already envisioned my MTV TRL appearance and was well into my movie career.
Well, during our performance of this song Lost Dialect and I did called "Don't move an inch". The whole crowd said my line with me and I was so surprised everyone knew my verse I completely forgot my next punch line…
One thing is for sure, I have had my share of glory and my share of shame. I consider it all a part of learning and because it all led me to where I am today I would not change a thing.
The only thing I would change is I would like to see a rise in the number of B boys, Emcees, Graff artists, DJs, and most of all promoters blessing the scene.
It always bothered me seeing a rising star in the scene get frustrated and fizzle out before they could make their permanent mark…
I know you got some great ideas you want to share so hit us up and make your voice heard and together we will make this scene what we know it can be...
